No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball is bound to be one of the most interesting rookies, if not one of the most interesting NBA players to watch this 2017-18 season that approaches.

His dynamic and ball-distributing gift has been part of many discussions in the offseason, but his family's reality show has also been the talk of many headlines this summer.

President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson, who has been a fervent proponent of Ball since before the NBA Draft has expressed no concern regarding his off-the-court lifestyle or his inclusion in his family's reality show, which has detailed from some of his draft night experiences to some more personal ones.

“Only time I am going to concern myself with what [Lonzo] does off the court is if it is affecting his play on the court,” Johnson told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk at the Lakers’ Media Day when asked about Ball’s reality Facebook series, “Ball in the Family.”

“Right now, I think it is awesome,” Johnson said. “His family is great. They came out Saturday, we had a big Laker picnic. … His dad is wonderful with me, and I am cool with him. … I think [Lonzo] is tired of all this [hype]. He is just like me; I just want to play and I think he wants to play, and then Saturday night [for the Lakers’ preseason opener], sold out, in Anaheim, wow!”

The hype has been real when it comes to Ball and while many NBA athletes have seen their careers dwindle after appearing in a reality TV show with all the obligations that come with it, Johnson wasn't rattled.

Only time will tell if the 19-year-old Ball will live up to the expectations that come from being a star in the City of Angels, not only on the court but also on the small screen.
