Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson congratulated LeBron James for passing Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list.

Via Twitter, Johnson congratulated James for his historic accomplishment.

Despite the tumultuous year that the Lakers are having, Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets will be a memorable one for James and the franchise.

For James, who grew up idolizing Jordan, it'll be a moment that he'll cherish forever. As a kid growing up in the Akron, Ohio, who knew that he would end up in the NBA and be considered as one of the greats. Surpassing Jordan was just a dream. Now, it's a reality forever forged in NBA history.

For the Lakers and Johnson, they now have three of the four players in the all-time scoring list, namely Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James.

It goes to show how the Lakers have been consistent in scouting, developing, and attracting the best basketball talents in the world.

It's a good reminder for Johnson and the front office. Not all organizations are blessed with such a rich culture and history. Some teams only have a selected crop of great players to don their jersey.

The Lakers have a bunch.
