LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will be facing Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the opener of the 2021-22 season, and LA legend Magic Johnson couldn't get any more excited.

On Twitter, Johnson praised the NBA for its epic key schedules that pit some of the best and most exciting teams in the opener. Aside from the LeBron vs. Curry main event, the opening schedule will also see Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets get a shot at revenge against Giannis Antetokounmpo and his champion Milwaukee Bucks.

No one will criticize Magic Johnson for being hyped about the schedule, though. After all, there's really nothing better than a Warriors-Lakers and Bucks-Nets games to make sure the season starts with a bang.

One major drawback, however, is that the Warriors might not be at full strength when they play the Lakers on October 19th to begin the 2021-22 season. Klay Thompson is set to return to the team and play next campaign, but it is looking more and more unlikely that he would play right away.

The Warriors are expected to ease him back, and based on the comments of general manager Bob Myers and head coach Steve Kerr in the past, he might not be ready to play when they face LeBron James and the Lakers.

Still, it should be an exciting, fast-paced and high-octane offensive game with Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook playing.
