Former Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson is excited about the team's future following the purple and gold's recent moves to clear up cap space in order to sign another player to a max contract.

The Lakers traded Moe Wagner, Isaac Bonga, and Jemerio Jones to the Washington Wizards as part of the Anthony Davis trade, then they convinced AD to waive his $4 million trade kicker. From $23 million, LA now has $32 million in cap space, which means they are now capable of signing guys like Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson, and Kemba Walker to a max deal.

Johnson, who resigned as one of the Lakers' top executives back in April, blamed general manager Rob Pelinka for backstabbing him during his time with the franchise. However, Magic still congratulates his former colleague every time he makes a move to improve the team's roster. Fans are seeing this as an awkward gesture from the Laker legend.

But Magic made it clear that even though he's no longer the Lakers' president, he will still support the franchise to the best of his abilities. He even said that he will help the team recruit free agents this summer if they ask him to. Johnson doesn't seem to have any ill-feelings towards Pelinka and team owner Jeanie Buss. He just wants the Lakers to be successful.

Well, the Lakers are seemingly headed to the right direction, and one huge move from them within the next week will definitely create a seismic shift in terms of who the powerhouse will be in the NBA next season.
