Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson wants fans to remember Kyle Kuzma, the player that seems to have been forgotten after all the hoopla involving Kawhi Leonard's free agency decision.

With Kawhi spurning the Lakers to join the Los Angeles Clippers, Lakers fans are extremely upset that their team wasn't able to get the third star that they wanted. The frustrations continued to mount when it was announced that the Clips have acquired Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

However, Magic was quick to come to the Lakers' aid, saying that the team has Kyle Kuzma — one of the brightest rising stars in the league. The incoming third-year pro was the team's second-leading scorer last season, but Johnson said that Kuz's improvement on the defensive end will determine their chances of winning a championship.

Kuzma's scoring ability is no doubt above average, considering the fact that he just completed his second season in the NBA. Nonetheless, he still struggles to remain in front of some of the players he's trying to defend. If he wants to take his game to another level, that is an aspect of his game that he needs to work on.

If Kuzma continues to improve at the rate that he's been since 2017, the Lakers are in a very good position to contend for a title next season. Forget the fact that they have missed out on Kawhi because the third star might just be on the team already.
