More drama in LaLa land. Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson met with head coach Luke Walton Tuesday. It was a pretty intense meeting between the two, according to reports.

Here is what happened in the meeting per Tania Ganguli and Broderick Turner of the LA Times.

Johnson, president of basketball operations, shouted and cursed at Walton, according to multiple sources who weren’t authorized to speak publicly. He asked Walton what he was doing with the team, wanting to see an offensive system in place that had yet to be implemented. At one point he chided Walton for interrupting him.

The Lakers are off to a slow start at 3-5. Now, historically, when LeBron James joins a new team, like he did with the Miami Heat and his second go around with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Does Johnson have the patience knowing that James teams have slow starts to the season? This is a whole new different team from last season and everyone is trying to figure out the chemistry and how to play with each other. That takes time, and not overnight.

The one thing the Lakers have been pretty terrible at is defense this season. And yes, the Lakers do not really have an offensive system set in place. When James comes to your team, whatever offensive system you have in place, that immediately gets thrown out the window and gets replaced with the LeBron offense.

If I had to guess, Walton stays on for the rest of the season and does not get fired during the season.
