Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban admires Los Angeles Lakers controlling owner and governor Jeanie Buss for the way she has been handling her team's recent controversies.

Cuban has three children. The eldest is 15-year-old Alexis Cuban. Jeanie Buss was slightly older when she started working for her father, the late Jerry Buss, with the Lakers.

With that in mind, Cuban told ESPN's Dave McMenamin that the hardest aspect of Buss' job involve her family ties within the franchise:

“Jeanie is smart. I think, not to speak for Jeannie, but the hardest thing for Jeanie has been that it's family. And so there will be a time when my kids [take over], or not my kids, and I have to make a decision on how to integrate my family and who takes on what role, and that's not going to be easy.

“So, Jeanie had to balance all that, and that's a credit to her that she made her decisions. She stuck by them, and she made the tough calls. So, Jeanie gets all the credit in the world. And unless you're there, it's really hard to understand. How do you balance the personal issues of a family with what you want to do for an organization? That's near impossible to make those decisions, and Jeanie had to deal with it, and she did the best she can, so she deserves a ton of credit.”

The Lakers finished with a 37-45 (.451) win-loss record this season. They haven't made the playoffs in six consecutive years. Plus, Magic Johnson stepped down abruptly as their president of basketball operations on April 9. Not only that, but they parted ways with head coach Luke Walton days later and have had plenty of other drama swirling around the franchise.

While many have criticized Jeanie Buss for how she has managed this whole situation, Mark Cuban clearly doesn't see it that way.
