On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers struggled in the first half against the lowly Golden State Warriors. Anthony Davis and company looked to possibly be on their way to a loss without LeBron James stuck street clothes on the bench, but then things drastically flipped in the second half.

The Lakers went on to crush the Warriors by 30 and, as a result, secured their seventh straight win while also getting newcomer Markieff Morris a little more comfortable with his new squad. Although Morris didn't make a huge impact on Thursday, he had his best game yet in purple and gold with head coach Frank Vogel believing the veteran forward is starting to fit in, via Spectrum SportsNet.

“I think defensively he's getting more comfortable with our coverages,” Vogel said of the Lakers newcomer. “You saw him knock down two three's. Got him a couple of post touches. Another way we can use him. I think every minute that he's out there with these guys, he gets more comfortable.”

Morris finished with eight points, four rebounds, and an assist in his 19 minutes off the bench for the Lakers. The bulk of his points came from beyond the arc as he went a perfect 2-for-2 from deep, which is one of the main reasons they brought him in to help this team.

With LeBron on the mend with groin soreness, Morris saw a boost in minutes and may see that become a trend for the rest of the regular season if the Lakers plan to rest James and Davis down the stretch.

The Lakers will now continue their three-game road trip as they will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first game of a back-to-back on Saturday. Los Angeles will then take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday before heading home to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday at the Staples Center.
