Los Angeles Lakers veteran big man Markieff Morris wasn't expecting to be able to watch his twin brother play live in a Game 7 in the first round of the playoffs. But because of the Lakers' loss to the Phoenix Suns, there he was, cheering on Marcus Morris at Staples Center as the Los Angeles Clippers did battle against the Dallas Mavericks this past Sunday.

Marcus Morris was one of the heroes for the Clippers in Game 7, erupting for 23 points and hitting seven 3-pointers, becoming only the second player in NBA history to hit seven triples in a Game 7. The Clippers forward got some motivation from his brother in the crowd.

Via Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

“I told him to be ready to shoot. Be mobile,” Markieff Morris said. “You see, he hit seven 3s.”

Marcus Morris appreciated the love from his Lakers bro:

“He’s watching it from a basketball mind and showing me stuff, telling me to slow down,” Marcus Morris said. “Just little things that he see during the game, and you know, obviously it helps. He’s always coaching me. We’ve been doing that since we were kids, so I wouldn’t expect anything less. …

“He can talk to me with his mask on and I know what he talking about. So it’s just, you know, we’ve had that forever.”

Markieff Morris admitted he “felt sick” about his season being over, but he wanted to give his brother all the support he could so Marcus could keep playing. Marcus is going for his first championship after Markieff won his first with the Lakers last season.

While it's disappointing that we're going to once again miss out on a battle between the Lakers and Clippers, we're in line for a great remainder of the playoffs in the Western Conference. Marcus Morris and the Clippers are set to take on the Utah Jazz in the second round. Markieff Morris will continue to cheer his brother on and give him advice.
