Newest addition to the Los Angeles Lakers, veteran power forward Markieff Morris, has in short order already been impressed by his new teammate Kyle Kuzma.

Morris, who was bought out by the Detroit Pistons and signed as a free agent with the Western Conference's top team, shared praise with the third-year forward, who has had an up-and-down season with the Lakers after having his role displaced when L.A. traded for All-NBA power forward Anthony Davis.

Per Spectrum SportsNet via SB Nation's Silver Screen & Roll:

“He’s gonna be special. Kuz is young right now, he’s still figuring everything out. Third year, he’s playing like an eight or ninth year player. He’s got some stuff to figure out… but I’m excited for his future for sure.”

Morris, 30, twin brother of newest Los Angeles Clippers forward Markieff, has appeared in two games for the Lakers thus far, scoring four points in his debut against the New Orleans Pelicans in fewer than 15 minutes this week. On Thursday, the former Kansas Jayhawk scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds in nearly 19 minutes.

The 24-year-old Kuzma, meanwhile, has gone from All-Rookie in his first year in L.A., to scoring 18 points per game last season, to career-lows in points, rebounds, assists, field goal shooting, and minutes this year as the Lakers skyrocket to the top of the conference.

Kuzma has a long way to go from becoming a finished product in the NBA, but it's going to take some work on the part of the Lakers to figure out how he fits best alongside James and Davis, the franchise's two top priorities in the meantime.
