Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Matt Barnes gave a surprise birthday present to his sons, one they will never forget.

The surprise was the sons would be working out with Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant.

Barnes played with Kobe Bryant and the Lakers from 2010-2012. Barnes signed with the Lakers the season after they won the NBA title over the Boston Celtics.

These two and their families are obviously close. It is very cool to see Bryant taking the time and working out with Barnes kids. Yes, their families seem close, but it still makes the kids day by working out with a legend.

The kids get to learn a lot from him during that workout. Also, the kids are working out with two-former NBA players who have won a combined six rings.

Having Bryant and Barnes combined basketball knowledge for these kids to be able to learn from will do wonders for them not only now, but for down the road.

To put it in perspective, Barnes averaged 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in his career. He won a ring with the Golden State Warriors. Bryant averaged 25 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game and won five titles — all with the Lakers.

I bet from now on, Barnes kids will get the opportunity they want to and workout with Bryant.
