Anthony Davis' return to action for the Los Angeles Lakers could be vastly important. After a 17-game absence, the Lakers finally have their main lob threat and defensive anchor. He got right back to work helping the Lakers take down the short-handed Brooklyn Nets.

Los Angeles still has a lot to figure out with Davis returning. The Russell Westbrook conundrum continues and the Lakers are determined to figure it out with their newest star. The team is comfortably in the playoff picture at 24-24 but is in just ninth place in the Western Conference.

It may be time to get worried about the Lakers' title hopes. Metta Sandiford-Artest —who played with the Lakers for six seasons, mostly under the name Metta World Peace — didn't get the message. He dropped some insane championship odds for LA.

It's unclear where those odds came from but they are ludicrous no matter the explanation. For any team to have such odds at any point before the playoffs is unheard of. For the Lakers to gee these odds at this point in their season is laughable even with LeBron James still leading the way.

Sandiford-Artest explained that Davis' return could give Los Angeles a great shot to get back into title contention.

Earlier this season, Sandiford-Artest claimed the purple and gold would take home the title. After backing that take up firmly, it'll be interesting to see how LeBron and company play from here on out.
