With players like LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony well into their thirties, many fans around the NBA have been talking about the aging Lakers, questioning if they have the capability to compete against young and talented teams for an entire season.

The 2010 NBA Champion and former Laker tweeted a video of him explaining why the 2021-2022 Lakers have the opportunity to win the NBA Championship.

“The Lakers are the oldest team in the league but they're not super old. They're not all, you know, 39 [and] 40 [years old].

“We won a title we [were] like 29 or 30 [years old]. [When] Jordan won his last title, he was probably like 34 [years old]. With that being said, you got a bunch of hall-of-famers whose just exiting their prime. Right? So, they have the intelligence, they still have the physical capabilities. This is one of the reasons why I think the Lakers have the opportunity to win the Finals,” the NBA Champion explained.

LA fans may be concerned about the age within the team, but the amount of experience and abundance of accolades can be a crucial weapon that many teams don't currently possess.
