Former Los Angeles Lakers bruiser Metta World Piece is known for many things. However, it appears that the 38-year-old also wants to add basketball prophet to his resume by recently predicting that LeBron James will eventually win a championship with the Lakers. However, he did present a bit of a caveat. Metta also claimed that James will only be able to achieve this feat after Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors win at least one more title.

The cameras of TMZ Sports recently caught up with the former NBA champion. When asked about his thoughts on the recent Hollywood arrival of James, Metta prophesized LeBron's title-winning run in the colors of the purple and gold.

“He's destined,” Metta says. “You can tell when somebody is chosen basketball-wise. You can tell.”

Despite his belief in James and the Lakers, Metta was straightforward about the prospect of the defending champions. He made it abundantly clear that in his eyes, Durant and the Dubs are the favorites for at least the next couple of seasons.

“I think Kevin Durant will three-peat,” World Peace says. “I think Kevin Durant might four-peat, quite honestly.”

In truth, it would be very difficult to disagree with Metta's sentiments here. Despite his championship-winning caliber, James joins a very young team that is considered by most to be a work in progress. In this regard, the Lakers may be at least one or two more years away from being serious contenders.

For their part, the Warriors only got more formidable during the offseason. DeMarcus Cousins officially completes their jaw-dropping All-Star starting five, and very few, if any, can beat this team in a seven-game series.
