The biggest storyline going into the offseason was centered around where small forward LeBron James was going to sign next. Although the Los Angeles Lakers had been pegged as the favorite to land his services, there was still some skepticism regarding whether or not he would be willing to come.

It appears forward Michael Beasley was among the doubters. According to Bleacher Report's Leo Sepkowitz, Beasley admits he did not think James would sign with the Lakers:

A little piece of me didn't think he'd leave Cleveland, but every time I make a [prediction] like that, it's always the opposite. I didn't think he was gonna leave Cleveland, so I knew he was gonna leave Cleveland. I 100 percent didn't think L.A. I thought the Philly situation made sense—teams that already had things in place to win the championship made sense. But when you listen to him speak and watch him play, and you watch how every team he brought to the Finals was all him making the situation 100 times better, it makes sense now.

As expected, Michael Beasley's take on the whole situation is quite intriguing. There is certainly some truth to it considering how the offseason unfolded up to that point. The Lakers had been at the forefront of every rumor regarding this year's batch of superstars — most notably with small forward's Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.  Needless to say, things did not quite go to plan and Los Angeles found themselves on the verge of yet another disappointing offseason.

However, James ultimately decided to go all in sans the other superstars. Beasley is among the colorful cast of players that have subsequently followed. Although it is still too early to tell whether or not James has made the right move, there is no doubt that the 2018-19 NBA season will be an eventful one for the Lakers.
