Mike Woodson and Lionel Hollins have reportedly been informed they are on the Los Angeles Lakers' coaching radar, according to Ian Begley of SNY.
Woodson has coached the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks, while Hollins has coached the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets.
Hollins went 262-272 during the regular season with the Grizzlies and Nets. Woodson, meanwhile, went 206-286 with the Hawks and Knicks.
The Purple and Gold haven't made the playoffs since 2013. They have the best player in the world in LeBron James on their roster, but right now, the franchise is an utter mess. The botched negotiations between Tyronn Lue got leaked and fans in LA are not happy.
Woodson hasn’t been a head coach since 2014. Hollins was fired by the Nets in 2016. The Lakers parted ways with Luke Walton on April 15. We're coming up on a month of the team not having a head coach in place.
Former Knicks coach Mike Woodson and former Nets coach Lionel Hollins have been informed that they are among the head coaches on the Lakers' radar, league sources confirmed to SNY.
The Lakers' coaching search re-opened earlier this week when negotiations between Tyronn Lue and Los Angeles reportedly fell apart.
The organization communicated its interest in both Woodson and Hollins in the wake of things falling apart with Lue, per sources. It is unknown if a meeting between the Lakers, and either coach has been scheduled yet.
