Montrezl Harrell is excited to officially don the legendary Los Angeles Lakers jersey. So much so that he's already imagining the specific plays that he'll run with star forward LeBron James.

Per Sports Notes, Harrell expects to run high pick and rolls, baseline sets, and receive tons of lobs from James.

Harrell shocked the NBA world when news broke out that he'll be leaving the Los Angeles Clippers to sign with their cross-town rivals, the Lakers. Almost everyone was caught off guard since Harrell was a critical piece to the Clippers' campaign last year. In fact, the 2019-20 season was his breakout year as he was crowned Sixth Man of the Year. Many firmly believed that he'll stick around to avenge the Clippers' horrendous playoff showing.

But in a strange turn of events, it was in fact the Clippers' poor showing in the postseason that might have triggered Harrell to leave. Many wanted and expected a clash between the Clippers and the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. But the Clippers blew a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets. It sent signals all over the NBA that the Clippers is a disjointed squad. Harrell's departure might have confirmed this to some.

While Harrell's transfer to the Lakers is a revelation to many, a recent interview with James revealed that he's been eyeing the forward quite a while. On recruiting Harrell, who also happens to be under Rich Paul's Klutch Sports, James said:

“”First of all Trez was a next door neighbour. We knocked on his door and said ‘Do you like what’s going on here?’ We knocked on his door and we landed Trez,” LeBron told Allie Clifton and Richard Jefferson on Spectrum SportsNet.

Amid all that has happened this year, it's been a great season for Lakers fans. Winning the title was great. But the offseason made it a lot sweeter.
