The Los Angeles Lakers received some good news on Monday on the injury front. As reported by ClutchPoints' Laker reporter Ryan Ward, forward Michael Beasley did not suffer a concussion after getting knocked out of Sunday’s preseason showdown with the Denver Nuggets at Staples Center with a head laceration.

Although Beasley did not show any symptoms of a concussion, the team reevaluated him on Monday just to make sure that the former second overall pick is fine.

Beasley’s preseason debut for the Lakers only lasted for six minutes, as he was not able to return to the contest. Over that span, the Kansas State product managed to put up just four points on 1-for-2 shooting from the field to go with a block. The Nuggets outscored Los Angeles by 12 points during Beasley’s brief time on the floor.

The Lakers gave Beasley a run at the center position at the Nuggets, which could also stand as a preview of what’s to come for the team in the coming regular season. Although the experiment did not look like a success – at least defensively – it seems that head coach Luke Walton is determined to continue deploying the tactic.

Michael Beasley was among the free agent additions of the Lakers in the offseason. The 29-year-old forward inked a one-year deal worth $3.5 million with Los Angeles back in July after spending the 2017-18 NBA season with the New York Knicks. In Gotham, Beasley averaged 13.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 74 games, while also making 50.7 percent of his field goal attempts.

Beasley is expected to play in Tuesday’s preseason rematch with the Nuggets.
