Former NBA veteran Nick Young was straightforward when asked who was his most annoying teammate to which he replied “Probably D'Angelo Russell.”  The two former Los Angeles Lakers teammates had a controversial feud when the then-rookie point guard filmed Nick Young admitting that he cheated on his fiancée Iggy Azalea, without Young's consent back in 2016.

Complex Sports posted the snippet of the quote from the Load Management Podcast via Twitter:

Young, Russell, and the other Lakers players have participated in a prank war all season which was indicative of their immaturity as a unit. The 20-year old rookie most likely didn't realize that he was taking the jokes too far by coaxing Young into admitting infidelity with a 19-year-old girl he met at a club while he secretly recorded the conversation.

When asked how the recording got out, Russell insisted that he didn't have an idea of how it was shared to the public. The Ohio State product was reportedly isolated by his Lakers teammates because of the broken trust between the two parties. Russell also apologized to Young back then, who in turn, accepted the apology.

According to TMZ, the controversy eventually soured the relationship between the then-engaged couple in Azalea and Young. The two were also found “not on good terms” after the incident.

Russell was eventually traded along with Timofey Mozgov in exchange for Brook Lopez and the rights to Kyle Kuzma, the 27th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. On the other hand, Young elected not to exercise his option to extend his contract for the 2017-18 season and went on to sign with the Golden State Warriors where he won his first NBA championship.

Despite not crossing paths anymore, the beef between the two former Lakers is still evident four years after the controversial incident. Nonetheless, the heated spat continues to serve as a lesson learned for D'Angelo Russell until this day.
