Nike has decided to honor the incredible efforts from former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant by creating a shoe based around his memorable 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors.

Bryant put one of the most ridiculous scoring displays in NBA history when he came just 19 points short of 100 in the 2006 game against the Raptors at Staples Center, which was a performance that left NBA fans in awe.

He went 28 of 46 from the floor and notched the 81 points in just 42 minutes of action, and that proved yet again why he's one of the best to ever play the game.

And now, Nike feels that it should show its appreciation for the insane feat by giving Bryant a shoe to commemorate the performance.

Here's how Nike describes it:

The Nike Kobe 1 Protro “81 Pt Game,” appearing on court from DeMar DeRozan during his January 9 game against Memphis, is the same colorway worn by Kobe Bryant when he scored 81 points on January 22, 2006.

The Nike Kobe 1 Protro “81 Pt Game” releases January 22 on SNKRS North America, nike.com and at select retailers globally.

There's no doubt that plenty of fans will want to rock the Bryant shoe so that perhaps it may inspire them to have their own tremendous scoring performance.

But it will certainly be hard to match what Bryant did against the Raptors.
