The Russell Westbrook trade hasn't really panned out for the Los Angeles Lakers. While he has shown flashes of his usual brilliance, chemistry issues and inconsistencies in his play have marred his first stint in LA–which is why Russ has been involved in several trade rumors as of late. However, NBA legend Oscar Robertson is not losing his confidence in the Triple-Double King.

Speaking with Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Robertson acknowledged that there are some things Westbrook is not doing well with the Lakers. He didn't elaborate on what those aspects are, but he did emphasize his belief that the All-Star guard will figure it out.

“I think there's some things Russ is doing that's great, some things he's doing that's not so great, but he's going to figure it out. He's a good athlete — smart athletes always figure out the best way to get there,” Robertson said of Westbrook.

Russell Westbrook is averaging 19.5 points per game this season, which is his lowest scoring output since his second year in the league. He is also putting up 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists while shooting 45.5 percent from the field.

Those are solid numbers, to say the least. However, it hasn't really resulted in wins for the franchise, as they remain at .500 with a 16-16 record.

As Oscar Robertson said, though, Russ is still figuring things out and he should be able to fully unleash his dominant ways when he finally gets a good hang of his role for the Lakers. Purple and Gold fans should only hope that it comes sooner rather than later.
