Former Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol and his wife are expecting a baby.

The two-time Lakers champion announced the wonderful news on Facebook:

Gasol has career NBA averages of 17.0 points and 9.2 rebounds with the Memphis Grizzlies, Lakers, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks. He will be a future Hall of Famer one day.

In February 2008, the Lakers acquired Gasol from the Grizzlies, giving the late Kobe Bryant the second star he needed to win more championships. Gasol made $13,735,000 in 2007-08 and put up 18.8 points and 7.8 rebounds in 27 games with the Lakers following his trade from Memphis. Unfortunately, the Lakers lost to the Boston Celtics in the 2008 Finals.

However, Bryant and Gasol rebounded nicely by winning the title in 2009 and 2010. The Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic in 2009 and the Celtics in 2010, with Bryant winning Finals MVP both times.

Gasol ended up leaving the Lakers in the summer of 2014 as a free agent to sign with the Bulls.

Since entering the NBA in 2001, Gasol has made $220,990,766 through NBA contracts, per Spotrac.
