As one of Kobe Bryant's best teammates — both in terms of relationship and skill — Pau Gasol has obviously been affected by the news of Bryant's tragic death.

Gasol took to Twitter to post a photo of the two together on the Los Angeles Lakers calling Bryant his ‘big brother'.

Kobe Bryant and Gasol played together in Los Angeles for seven seasons from 2008-2014. The duo helped bring two NBA championships(2009 and 2010) to the Lakers franchise.

Bryant, of course, was involved in a helicopter crash this weekend in Calabasas, California which took the life of the 41-year-old. The accident also took the lives of eight other passengers which included Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gigi.

Bryant's untimely death has sent shockwaves throughout the basketball as the Lakers legend helped inspire an entire generation of players. Many teams and players have made gestures during games this week in homage to Bryant.

In his seven seasons as a Laker, Gasol averaged 17.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 52.2 percent from the field.

While not always perfect, Bryant and Gasol shared a strong bond as teammates and friends as the two were integral to the success of the Lakers during the mid-to-late 2000s.

Gasol, now 39 years old, is likely nearing the end of his career. After playing just 30 combined games for the San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks the last two seasons, the Spanish big man signed with the Portland Trailblazers. Injuries have hindered Gasol late in his career and in November, the NBA veteran announced he would no longer be a part of the Blazers organization in order to solely focus on rehabbing a lingering foot injury.
