Los Angeles Lakers guard Rajon Rondo just drained his first career buzzer beater over his former team, the Boston Celtics.

The 32-year-old, who's in his 14th year in the league, just made his first buzzer and what made it sweeter is that it was a game-winning shot over his former team.

Below is the final possession of the game. At first, it looked like a messed up play. But thanks to a Tyson Chandler tap, the ball went to the hands of Rondo who confidently drained a perimeter jumper on top of two Celtics players.

Many saw the game-winner as the key event that would unite the Lakers moving forward. After the spate of trade rumors that hounded their team, many believe that its players — especially the young ones — will never be the same again. One way or the other, such rumors have tarnished their confidence.

Time will only tell if Rondo's amazing game winner will truly boost the Lakers' confidence back. At this point in the season, the Lakers certainly need to flip some sort of switch. They currently sport a 28-27 record for 10th place in the Western Conference. For the Lakers squad, the goal this season is to qualify for the playoffs. For the next games, they might need to put up a similar effort that they exerted in Boston.
