Los Angeles Lakers guard Quinn Cook, who is close friends with Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant, says the two-time Finals MVP is “doing great” despite testing positive for the coronavirus.

The Lakers reserve says the Nets star deserves praise for coming forward with this positive test:

“He's good. He's good,” Cook said on the Wizards Talk podcast. “His spirits are good. K is in great spirits, still being K, man. Low, mellow, chill, moving at his own pace.

“He's just encouraging social distancing, staying inside and don't expose others. For him to step up to the plate and use his platform to spread awareness, it's brave. That's the kind of guy he is. He's fine. He's doing great.”

Durant and three other Nets players tested positive, which led to all Lakers players getting tested. The former MVP is asymptomatic.

Cook's test came back negative. The Lakers guard did say getting tested was quite the unpleasant experience.

Two Lakers players tested positive, but their names have not yet been revealed.

KD didn't have to tell Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium that he tested positive. However, the Nets superstar knows his voice travels far. It was a great move by Durant, and hopefully he's feeling better as the days go by.

Durant was set to miss this entire season, as he's still recovering from his Achilles tear. Even if the season resumes down the road, he's not expected to return. The two-time NBA champion figures to make the Nets title contenders next season once he's on the floor with Kyrie Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert and DeAndre Jordan.

With the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors, Durant holds career NBA averages of 27.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Nets fans can't wait to see KD suit up for them.
