After spending quite some time fielding the remaining options in the free agency market, the Los Angeles Lakers have decided to re-sign guard Quinn Cook, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Quinn spent last season with the Lakers, providing a decent contribution off the bench in efforts of helping them secure the franchise's 17th championship.

With the re-signing of Quinn Cook, the Lakers are now at full capacity heading into training camp. Cook averaged 5.1 points per game last season while shooting 42.5 percent shooting from the field. He only saw an average of 11.5 minutes of playing time per game, which didn't help his case in becoming a sought-after backup guard once free agency commenced.

Even so, Cook may be in a better position now than he was with the Lakers last season. The team will be looking to hand out more ball-handling duties after parting ways with Rajon Rondo, which could open up the door for Cook to see additional time in the reserve unit. The bulk of the guard duties will go to Dennis Schroder, whom the Purple and Gold were able to pry away from the Oklahoma City Thunder in November.

Schroder has went on record stating that he expects to be the starting point guard once the season stars, which leaves little speculation as to whether or not Cook or Alex Caruso would be granted such a spot.

Overall, the Lakers have had a successful offseason. While all the dealing had appeared to be done after re-signing Anthony Davis, they were also able to secure LeBron James on a two-year, $85 million extension that'll run through the 2022-23 campaign.
