Quinn Cook says the chance to play with LeBron James factored into his decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency.

Cook signed a two-year, $6 million contract with the Lakers after spending the previous two seasons with the Golden State Warriors.

Quinn Cook played in 74 games this past season for the Warriors. He averaged 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 46.5 percent from the field, 40.5 percent from beyond the arc and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Cook will likely be the third-string point guard for the Lakers. Los Angeles is probably going to start LeBron James, Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. Rajon Rondo will be the second-string point guard.

Cook has played in 34 playoff games. He was part of the 2018 Warriors team which won the title over LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games. Now, Cook will try and help the Lakers reach the postseason for the first time since 2013. With Anthony Davis next to LeBron, the Lakers should be able to make the playoffs unless drastic injuries happen.

For his NBA career, Cook has averages of 7.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 121 games with the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans and Warriors.
