Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo believes star small forward LeBron James still has a lot of years left as being the best player in the game.

Some pundits believe James is slowing down and isn't the top player in the NBA anymore. Rondo, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer, says LeBron has proved people wrong his entire life, so betting against him wouldn't be wise.

The Lakers are missing the playoffs this season. It's the first time LeBron James won't be in the postseason since his second year in the NBA during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James suffered the worst injury of his career this season. The four-time MVP tore his left groin on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors and missed 17 games in a row.

The Lakers went 6-11 without LeBron and fell out of the playoff picture. Rondo missed a lot of games this campaign as well, as the veteran point guard underwent two procedures on his right hand.

This is the first summer in a very long time James will get to relax his body. Rondo wouldn't be surprised if LeBron comes back next season better than ever. The Lakers are hoping that's the case and they snap their playoff drought in 2019-20.
