Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo has been dealing with a finger injury for the past few weeks, but it sounds like he could be cleared to play in Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to a report from ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Rondo will be a game-time decision:

Rondo was a participant in Wednesday's practice session, but he did not take any contact. Earlier this week, Lakers head coach Luke Walton stated that Rondo could be back on the court soon, so long as there are no setbacks.

If Rondo is indeed cleared to play, he'll likely be asked to play a fair amount, as the Lakers are still a bit thin at the point guard position. Lonzo Ball, who's out with a Grade-3 left ankle sprain, is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

In his 14 appearances with the Lakers this season (two starts), Rondo has racked up averages of 8.4 points on 45.0 percent shooting from the field (35.7 percent from beyond the arc), 6.7 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 24.4 minutes per outing.

In other Lakers-related injury news, LeBron James remains out of commission due to a groin injury, though he did go through portions of Wednesday's practice. There are some reports indicating that the King will be ready to suit up at some point this weekend, but the Lakers are being cautious with his return.

Thursday's Lakers-Timberwolves game is scheduled to tip inside the STAPLES Center at 10:30 p.m. TNT will have live broadcast coverage.
