The Los Angeles Lakers are listing Rajon Rondo as questionable to face the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 2, per Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

The Lakers lost Game 1 without Rondo, who is recovering from hand surgery. Los Angeles would certainly love to have the veteran point guard in the lineup for Game 2.

Los Angeles could use another playmaker, shot creator and defender in this series against the Blazers. With that said, the return of Rajon Rondo could be a major boost for the Lakers, who didn't look like the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference in Game 1. While the veteran has lost a step or two since his prime days, he can still make a major impact when he brings it, as seen in some of his recent playoff appearances.

During the regular season, Rondo appeared in 48 games for the Lakers. He averaged 7.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 41.8 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 65.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Along with LeBron James, JaVale McGee, Danny Green and Quinn Cook, Rondo has Finals appearance on his belt. He won the 2008 title with the Boston Celtics over the Lakers and also played in the 2010 Finals.

The Lakers have to win Game 2 to avoid going down 0-2 in the series. Even though Los Angeles won't have to play Games 3 and 4 in Portland, it's difficult to defeat a team after falling behind in the series by two games.

Plus, Blazers superstar point guard Damian Lillard is playing out of this world. You don't want to give him even more confidence moving forward.
