In Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets, Rajon Rondo moved on to the ninth spot in the all-time playoffs assists list, surpassing Los Angeles Lakers great Kobe Bryant.

Below is the Rondo's assist to LeBron James which moved him up the all-time playoffs assist list. It came in the fourth quarter during the Lakers' run.

Rajon Rondo is considered one of the best true point guards in the NBA. He first made his mark during his stint with the Boston Celtics. Together with the trio of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce, Rondo helped the Celtics win the 2008 NBA title. Note that this was just Rondo's second year in the league and his first playoff campaign.

After winning the title in 2008, Rondo would continue piling up his assists. Boston remained strong title contenders in the early 2010s with Rondo in the fold. They even made it back to the NBA Finals in 2010 but lost to the Lakers in seven games.

After his stint with the Celtics, Rondo showcased why he's one of the best true point guards that the league has seen. Perhaps the most notable is his stint with the New Orleans Pelicans. In nine playoff games in 2018, Rondo averaged a career-best 12.2 assists. They entered the playoffs as the sixth seed and faced the third-seed Portland Trail Blazers squad. But lo and behold, the Pelicans booted out the Blazers in four games.

Rondo and LeBron James are the only active players in the top 10 playoffs assist list. As such, the guard will likely climb on up. Next on the list: Chicago Bulls icon Scottie Pippen.
