To no one's surprise, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was a maniac in high school as well.

Jason Dumas of KRON4 shared a story on Twitter about how Bryant once had his car heat on high during the summer because he wanted to stay warm in advance of his game against Jerry Stackhouse:

This is a classic Kobe Bryant story. The Lakers icon was one of the most intense competitors you'll ever find, and he was ready to do anything to get a competitive advantage.

Bryant was not only talented, but he had the drive and mindset to be the top version of himself. He was addicted to working on his basketball craft and learning new tricks to get the best of his opponent. The Black Mamba would go to any length — as based on this latest story — to get to the place he needs to get to beat you.

With the Lakers, Bryant won five championships and two Finals MVPs. He got his Nos. 8 and 24 jerseys retired last season at Staples Center and could get a statue outside the arena soon.

Next year, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. While it will be sad celebrating Bryant's career without him there, it will certainly be a powerful moment remembering his legacy as a player and father.
