Richard Jefferson says LeBron James will not ask for a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers despite the franchise being an utter mess right now.

Jefferson played with James on the Cleveland Cavaliers, was coached by Tyronn Lue and was the best man at Luke Walton's wedding.

The former NBA forward told Jorge Sedano on ESPN radio in LA he knows a lot more than he can say right now about the Lakers:

To recap, the Lakers and Walton parted ways after the season ended. After Monty Williams signed with the Phoenix Suns, everyone thought LA and Lue would agree to a deal since Lue coached James on the Cavs.

However, the Lakers reportedly only offered Lue a three-year deal. Lue was looking for a five-year deal. Talks between the two sides have stopped completely and the Lakers will start a new coaching search.

James signed a four-year deal with the Lakers last summer. The King knew it would take time to get the franchise back to prominence, but he probably didn't see this type of dysfunction occurring.

From Magic Johnson stepping down from his president role to the Lakers not treating Lue properly in negotiations, there's a lot going wrong with the Purple and Gold right now.
