It wasn't too long ago that a video of Anthony Davis admitting that he hasn't played basketball in several months went viral. This caused some fans to worry about Davis' mentality and how he's approaching the offseason. Well, if you ask Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, it is clear that he believes there is no cause for concern here whatsoever.

Pelinka had nothing but praise for Davis as he described how seriously the eight-time All-Star has been this summer in terms of his preparation for the new season:

“He’s bought in, and I think he’s quietly put together one of the biggest offseasons of his career,” Pelinka said, via Brad Sullivan of Lakers Daily. “You can just tell. He’s got a very serious tone about him. Last year didn’t unfold the way that any of us wanted, and I think everyone’s gonna come back with a chip on our shoulder, and A.D.’s gonna lead us with that. I think he’s working hard. I know he’s working really hard on his body.”

For Anthony Davis, injuries have been a major issue, and over the past few years, these have prevented him from being the dominant force for the Lakers we all know he can be. AD has had tremendous stints with LA — including their 2020 title run —  but the past two years have been riddled with injuries.

As Pelinka described, however, Anthony Davis is now working hard on his physical conditioning. AD also understands that he has something to prove this season. The rest of the NBA better be ready.
