Not too long ago, Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson had tumultuous fallout after the latter resigned as the Los Angeles Lakers' president of basketball operations.  It didn't take a while for the two to patch things up. In fact, after the Lakers snagged the 2020 NBA title, the two have already talked about repeating as champions.

In a recent interview with Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Johnson discussed his relationship with Pelinka, as well as his intent to help the Lakers get back to their winning ways.

“After I left, that stuff was in the past,” Johnson told The Times by phone. “But I was still a Laker and nothing changed there. And the love that Jeanie and I have for each other will always be there and always has been there. That didn’t change either. I’ve always wanted the best for the Lakers, and that’s why anything that I can do to help the Lakers back to winning an NBA championship, I was going to do. Rob and I were able to move past the situation, and now we’re good. We’re friends. We were talking about repeating last night.”

The franchise now has a total of 17 titles. They are now tied with the Boston Celtics for the most titles in NBA history. And given Johnson's competitive drive, he and Pelinka will do everything they can to keep the core intact, as well as add a few more key pieces. Expect the Lakers to make some key moves this offseason.
