During a conference call with reporters on Wednesday, Los Angeles Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka spoke about Kobe Bryant's Hall of Fame nod.

Pelinka, who was essentially Bryant's best friend, says the Lakers icon will be with us in spirit when it's time to present Kobe:

When Kobe Bryant was announced as a Hall of Famer last Saturday, it was a mix of emotions.

While everyone was thrilled that the Lakers great made it into the Hall, emotions of sadness came about as well since people again realized they weren't going to be able to hear Kobe speak at his induction.

It's going to be interesting to see who presents The Black Mamba. The Lakers legend once said he would like Michael Jordan or Phil Jackson to do it.

As we all know, Bryant is the greatest player in Lakers franchise history. Kobe won five rings with the Lakers. He also captured two Finals MVPs and one regular-season MVP.

Bryant finished his Lakers career with averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He's universally recognized as the second-best shooting guard in NBA history behind only Jordan.

The Lakers retired both of Kobe's jerseys last season. Some fans believe Los Angeles should build a Bryant statue outside of Staples Center as well. They might as well since there's a Shaq statue already.
