You can’t fall asleep while driving. The same rule applies when you’re playing alongside Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James. Doing so with James on the basketball court may not carry a lethal consequence, but it could result in bodily harm nonetheless. Just ask Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, who had a hilarious story to tell about the hazards of being teammates with James, via Harrison Feigen of SB Nation.

According to Rob Pelinka, a teammate dropped LeBron's pass the other day because he didn't expect it, leading to this exchange:

LeBron: “Man do you like your nose?

Player: “Yeah…”

LeBron: “Well get your hands ready, or I'm gonna break your nose!”

The guessing game starts now. Who was that Lakers player who got that an impromptu basketball lesson from LeBron James? Saying that it’s a rookie would be a smart guess, so Moritz Wagner, Svi Mykhailiuk, and Joel Berry II are the prime candidates. Then again, the Lakers are littered with characters known for their distinct penchant for losing their concentration on the court like Michael Beasley, JaVale McGee, and Lance Stephenson.

In case anyone mistakenly thinks that when James said that he might break a player’s nose if he fails to catch his passes, he meant to literally punch that dude in the face, we have a solid, air-tight, irrefutable evidence that James will never in a million lifetimes do that. Because if he had such violent tendency, he would have put J.R. Smith in a rear-naked choke back in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals.
