The Los Angeles Lakers' poor start to the season continued on Friday night as they fell in three overtimes to the lowly Sacramento Kings. It was a forgettable performance from Frank Vogel's squad and Lakers legend Robert Horry let them hear it after the game on live television with James Worthy.

Here is what Horry said, via Fadeaway World:

“I watch the game, and as soon as they get a lead, they start smiling and having all these antics not realizing the other team is watching you. And that's fueling their fire. I know that's what this game has turned into. Everybody wants to throw antics up when they make a 3-pointer, they're so happy they finally make a shot, but to me, you laughing and smiling –that right there is not professional. If the Lakers wanna be a championship team, you gotta come up with the grit and the grind, no smiling and just beat someone down. They've only won one game this year by 10 points, at Houston, and Houston is the worst team in the NBA.”

He definitely has a point. The Lakers have struggled to put teams away so far in 2021/22 and could barely hit a shot on Friday, going 15 for 44 from downtown. While LeBron James did drop 30 points, he was a dismal 2 for 13 from three-point land, while AD was 0 for 5. They had numerous leads but let the Kings claw their way right back into the contest.

On paper, there was nothing but excitement surrounding this franchise. Russell Westbrook has actually been playing a lot better lately, but the likes of LeBron and Davis aren't living up to expectations. AD especially is shooting the ball horribly, ranking towards the bottom of the league in terms of efficiency.

Losing in three extra periods is even more scarring, too. Sacramento is one of the worst teams in the league yet they walked out with a W. Hopefully, James can stay healthy and get the Lakers back on track because right now, it's simply not good enough.
