It's been an incredibly frustrating season for Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers. A team billed to be a championship contender has been troubled by injuries and a lack of cohesion. As a result, the Lakers sit at an even .500 record instead of dominating the NBA as they would've hoped.

The frustrations from the Lakers has reached a boiling point against the Denver Nuggets. On one possession, Russell Westbrook was stopped by forward Aaron Gordon on multiple occasions. When Westbrook fell over, he immediately confronted Gordon, resulting in a kerfuffle between the two players. (via Bleacher Report)

It's unclear what caused the Lakers guard to blow up on the Nuggets player. Looking at the play, there doesn't seem to be anything untoward happening between Russell Westbrook and Aaron Gordon. Perhaps this was just a result of the frustrations that Westbrook has.

Westbrook was acquired by the Lakers in a huge trade from the Washington Wizards, in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell. The hope for LA was that Westbrook's arrival would herald a new era for the team, with their Big 3 of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Instead, it's been a tumultuous season filled with injuries to key players.

Still, there's plenty of time for this team to turn this around. As hated as the Lakers might be, they have the talent to make a comeback into the season. If Westbrook and AD (once he returns) find a sense of consistency with their play, they may just live up to the expectations placed on them in the offseason.
