Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers had a night to forget against the Oklahoma City Thunder. In a contest that was supposed to be a feel-good game with Russ' return to OKC, things took a turn for the purple and gold.

The Lakers finished the first quarter up 41-19 and were up by as much as 26 points before the Thunder rallied back to take an eight-point victory. The miserable defeat was capped off by Russell Westbrook getting ejected in the game's dying seconds as he was enraged by Darius Bazley dunking the ball with the game out of hand.

Westbrook spoke out on the testy sequence right before the buzzer sounded, via ClutchPoints' Lakers reporter Michael Corvo:

“It is what it is. I don't think I should have gotten the first tech … If the last one was a tech, that's cool. But, just how I play the game — I'm old school. When shit like that happens, I don't let it slide. I'll take it on the chin and move on.”

“But in the game of basketball, there's just certain things you don't do,” continued the Lakers star. “Like in baseball, you don't flip the bat. There's certain things you just don't do in sports. Game's already over. And I didn't like it, simple as that.”

The frustrations certainly got the better of Russell Westbrook, who posted a triple-double on the evening but also had 10 turnovers to go along with it. The Lakers star will definitely look to bounce back as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.
