To say that Russell Westbrook has had a rough start for the Los Angeles Lakers would be an understatement at this point. A recent statistical anomaly serves as a clear testament to this fact, and it likely isn't going to sit well with some of the legends of the franchise.

One could argue that when it comes to stats, Russell Westbrook is the GOAT. However, this is one particular stat that the Lakers star will want to forget at the soonest possible time (h/t Stathead on Twitter):

Not only do Russell Westbrook's 64 turnovers in the first 12 games of the season lead the NBA, but perhaps even more shocking is the fact that he's already set a Lakers franchise record with this horrific stat.

According to Stathead, Westbrook has leaped to the top spot in this forgettable list. He surpassed the great Magic Johnson, who recently held the record of 62 turnovers in the first 12 contests of the 1988-89 season.

Magic Johnson is widely considered as one of the greatest playmakers of all time, but he had a knack for turning the ball over as well. So much so, that he holds no less than six spots in the Top 10 list of the aforementioned turnover ranking. Russ is now at the very top, while Norm Nixon stands not-so-proudly at No. 3.

Guess who rounds out the Top 10 with the ninth and 10th most turnovers in the first 12 games of the season? None other than the Black Mamba himself, Kobe Bryant.

Being mentioned with the all-time greats of the Lakers franchise is definitely noteworthy, but not in this particular category for Russell Westbrook.
