The Los Angeles Lakers recently made waves in the NBA and sports world with the announcement that they would be renaming their beloved Staples Center the Crypto.com Arena. Well, Lakers star Russell Westbrook was asked about the newly named venue and hilariously misheard the reporter.

Aaaannndd there it is! Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Crip Arenaaaaa! In Westbrook's defense, the two words do sound awfully alike, and it's easy for the mind to go there as soon as the “crip' sound and Los Angeles are put together.

Maybe Westbrook will put the cryp in Crypto by christening the stadium with a walk up the court, as he did earlier this year while dribbling up the floor for the Lakers against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

There's no doubt that the rest of the Lakers will have a little fun at Westbrook's expense after the hilarious exchange. And a little bit of team bonding could go a long way for a Lakers team that has underachieved to an 8-8 start.

Los Angeles has been without both LeBron James and Anthony Davis at times this season, though the full-strength Lakers are likely to put on quite the show at the Crip, er, Crypto.com Arena once it's officially renamed on Christmas Day.
