Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson recently made a visit to the Los Angeles Lakers’ training facility with his stepson, Future, and both were awed at the sight of the parade of trophies adorning the gym.

In total, the Lakers have 16 NBA trophies, just one shy of tying the Boston Celtics for most in league history.

While marveling at the Lakers’ shiny collection of Larry O’Briens, Wilson asked Future whether he’d win one when he grows up. Does this mean that Russell wants Future to pick up basketball instead of football?

Maybe. After all, basketball is a generally safer sport to play than football. Just last Thursday, Wilson got his chin dinged up by Arizona Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby, something Wilson obviously doesn’t want Future to experience.

Wilson led the Seahawks to a 22-6 win over Arizona, as the dual-threat QB threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-32 attempts. He also rushed for 19 yards on five carries.

Wilson is a winner himself, having won a Super Bowl title with the Seahawks in 2014. And by swinging by the Lakers’ facility, Wilson will walk away with further motivation and inspiration to win more.

Wilson and the 6-3 Seahawks will play the Atlanta Falcons next Monday as they try to catch the 6-2 Los Angeles Rams atop the NFC West standings.
