Former Detroit Pistons first round pick Sekou Doumbouya sure looks excited after the Los Angeles Lakers gave him a second chance to save his career.

The Lakers signed Doumbouya to a two-way contract on Tuesday, and the young Frenchman couldn't contain his excitement to be part of the storied Purple and Gold organization. He took to Twitter to share his reaction to the news, simply writing the #LakeShow hashtag.

The Pistons drafted Sekou Doumbouya with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He has always been deemed a project, so it came as a surprise when the team traded him to the Brooklyn Nets this offseason. He was eventually sent to the Houston Rockets, who shockingly waived him after his acquisition.

At just 20 years old, though, there is no doubt that Doumbouya still has a lot to show. The Lakers are certainly banking on unleashing his untapped potential and make him a critical part of their future if it works out.

Doumbouya averaged just 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 94 total games for the Pistons. While he failed to develop at the pace the Pistons would have wanted, there is no doubt he has the physical tools to be a solid contributor for a team.

It remains to be seen if the Lakers can further develop Doumbouya, but it will certainly help the youngster to be around players like LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.
