The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to upgrade their roster this summer following yet another disappointing season, which resulted in them missing the playoffs again despite having LeBron James. There are tons of speculations about them possibly trading for New Orleans Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis or Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal. But according to FOX Sports' Shannon Sharpe, they should try to explore the idea of trading for Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported that the Rockets are making everyone available for the right offer, including CP3. Sharpe believes the Lakers should try to trade Lonzo Ball and the fourth overall pick in this year's draft to Houston for Paul:

There were reports that CP3 had a verbal altercation with Rockets star James Harden following their loss to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals, so things might be starting to implode in Houston. What better way to prevent that than to blow the roster up?
Paul is a good friend of LeBron, which means trading for him might make the four-time MVP happy. It would give the Lakers two veteran stars who can handle the ball and pass it well.
However, it is unclear if the Lakers will be interested in acquiring Paul. Aside from the fact that he's already past his prime, he's also injury-prone. At this point, going after a guard like Beal makes much more sense for them. In addition, the Rockets are trying to build a contending team, so they might not be interested in two young prospects at the moment, no matter how promising they can be.
