During Shaquille O'Neal's eight seasons wearing a Los Angeles Lakers jersey, he helped the team add three championship banners to the franchise's collection. His tenure in LA was filled with constant beef between him and Kobe Bryant.

The perception of Shaq and Kobe was that both were trying to prove who was the team's alpha dog, who was better. But apparently, the beef between the two legends was not a reality, as people outside the team believed.

During a recent half-time show featuring the NBA on TNT crew the panel, including O'Neal, spoke about a new Players Only monthly special that will feature both of the former Lakers superstars.

The most recent iteration of the kind featured Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson. It was a sit-down conversation in which both expressed their feelings on their once-ruptured friendship.

Giving a small preview of the conversation in the program, that will be broadcasted on NBA TV during the All-Star Weekend, O'Neal spoke about the beef between him and Bryant:

“I've told you all many stories, and you guys probably don't believe it but, our beef was sort of like a media beef. So, his guy was Jim Gray, my guy was Jim Hill, so stuff was always said outside. But once we got to the court, even in practice, we never really had problems. But it brought back a lot of memories.”

The Big Aristotle also said there are no hard feelings between him and the Lakers organization due to them trading him as Bryant rose to superstardom:

“Because if you watch every movie that has to deal with the younger guy stepping up, you know, at some point the young guy had to kill off the big guy so he can become the man. And that's what happened in that case. And for me, [Lakers owner] Jerry Buss was gracious enough to say, ‘Listen, you're older. We love you. You brought me three championships, a Finals MVP. But you're going to be 35, 36 [years old], I don't want to pay a guy that old 25 or 30 million', and I understood that. So I moved on.”

Hearing this is surprising, as both legends were believed to hold grudges, even to this day. O'Neal appeared to handle the situation pretty maturely. This small teaser will sure attract a lot of viewers to tune in and hear them say what went on during those days.
