Shareef O'Neal might not have the same imposing and dominating body like his dad Shaquille O'Neal, but much like the Los Angeles Lakers legend, the young kid can throw it down with force.

In the Lakers' Summer League showdown with the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, the young O'Neal got out on the fastbreak and delivered a thunderous jam that had all his teammates hyped up.

Indeed, like father, like son.

Shareef O'Neal went undrafted in the annual rookie selection this year. However, the Lakers gave him a chance by signing him to their Summer League roster. Clearly, the 22-year-old is making the most of his opportunity to make his NBA dream a reality.

While Shareef has a lot of work to do in order to make it to the roster of an NBA team, there is no denying that he is showing his potential and going all-out. When he suited up for the Lakers for the first time earlier this July, he immediately displayed his offensive arsenal with a quick bucket that just looked so right.

It would definitely be great to see Shareef make it to the NBA and continue the O'Neal legacy. He may have to wait a little more for that chance to come, but like what he's doing now, he needs to grab and make the most of every chance he gets.

Shareef's journey to the NBA hasn't been easy, but it also makes him hungrier to crack a roster and show everyone he can thrive in the league as well.
