FOX Sports analyst Skip Bayless thinks the Los Angeles Lakers will regret trading Lonzo Ball to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Bayless doubts that LeBron James will win a championship before he exits his prime. As such, the Ball trade will be a waste for the organization, who just mortgaged their future for a chance to win now.

On Saturday, the Lakers sent Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round picks — including the No. 4 overall in 2019 Draft — for Anthony Davis.

The move ended the saga which have hounded the team last season and one which reportedly affected their chemistry. With the deal, the Lakers are largely considered legitimate contenders — contrary to Bayless' opinion.

During their time together, Ball and James showcased great chemistry. They were often involved in pick-and-rolls where James was the roll man. Ball utilized his supreme vision and accurate passing which led to powerful finishes by James right in front of the rim.

Magic Johnson, days after parting ways with the organization, revealed that James took Ball under his wing, noticing the great talent that the 21-year-old possesses.

But as fate would have it, the two had to part ways. Perhaps ‘regret' is too strong of a word to describe their separation. In the event that the Lakers do not win it all, fans will fantasize on the ‘what ifs' if Ball and James stayed together.
