Los Angeles Lakers star and accidental television critic LeBron James was a fan of “Squid Game” — the violent drama and global phenomenon that dropped on Netflix in September and rapidly became the most popular show in the history of the streaming service.

Well, except for the ending. (SPOILERS BEWARE)

At the end of a media availability session earlier this month (following a preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors), LeBron and Anthony Davis — as reporters continued to record and document the proceedings — briefly talked about the “Squid Game” ending before Davis took LeBron's place at the podium.

LeBron praised the show and shared his thoughts on the polarizing ending.

“I did finish it,” James said, before confirming that Davis had finished the show. “Yeah, I didn’t like the ending though. I know they start it off with a Season 2, but, like, get on the f*ckin' flight and go see your daughter, bro. Like, what are you doing?”

Davis and the reporters in the room seemed to concur with the Lakers superstar.

The creator of Netflix's mega-hit, Hwang Dong-hyuk, didn't find James' spoiler-heavy comments to be particularly amusing. The showrunner clapped back at the Lakers star while defending the conclusion of season one.

“Have you seen Space Jam 2? LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants,” Dong-hyuk told The Guardian's Stuart Jeffries. “I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending. If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, ‘I liked your whole show, except the ending.’”

Alright, then!
