The Los Angeles Lakers have dealt with a number of injuries this season, mostly to stars such as LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Well, the Lakers received a surprising update on Anthony Davis ahead of Friday's scheduled game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This is surprising for the Lakers. Anthony Davis seems to always be on or near the injury report nursing some kind of ailment, though this questionable designation is certainly still surprising. Davis is dealing with knee soreness.

Davis still has a chance to play against the Thunder but will likely have to go through a pre-game workout to determine his official playing status. Not good news for a Lakers team that has struggled to put together a consistent stretch of winning.

Los Angeles has already lost twice to the Thunder- and could be in danger of doing so a third time if Davis is unable to suit up Friday night. Davis, 28, has dealt with a bevy of upper and lower body injuries this season but has remained effective for the Lakers, with averages of 24.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game.

Unfortunately, for the Lakers, it seems they'll be without Anthony Davis as he's been ruled out for Friday's game, per Shams Charania.

This puts the Lakers in a bad spot as the team looks to get back on track with a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. We'll see what happens though, as Oklahoma City shouldn't be a tough challenge for Los Angeles. Keep an eye on Anthony Davis, as the injury isn't serious and he's likely due back after this matchup.
